GETAWAY — Movement Is Not a Crime

There’s a certain ache that comes with building a beautiful life while knowing that others are still fighting for a basic one.

I feel that tension often.

Güven and I created the GETAWAY collection as a celebration of movement, of rest, of softness.

But we also created it as a statement. A quiet refusal to separate comfort from conscience.

We’ve shared Güven’s immigration story, how he came to America at 30, with a suitcase full of snacks and the wild idea that a better life could be made from scratch.
Now, we raise our kids in a swirl of cultures, rhythms, languages, and love.
But we’re never not aware that mobility is a privilege, not granted to everyone.

So we made this:

Movement is natural. Borders are not.

It’s a love letter to softness, to survival, to choosing action even when it's imperfect.
