Just Between Us (Entry Five) “Love, Without Earning It”
I’ve been walking around all day
with this wild, fizzy kind of love —
as if everything I’ve been rowing toward,
sometimes frantically for years,
has drifted right up beside me.
Not meaning, exactly
(my existential streak is still alive and well 😏),
but the benefits of the roots I’ve been planting.
I’ve been watering the people who water me.
Now the well is spilling over.
It’s unnerving.
It’s intoxicating.
It could all vanish tomorrow —
but for now I’m basking.
Accepting.
Grounding.
Finding my North Star again.
Because I’m being poured into
simply for existing,
I can send that strength outward.
I catch it in my palms,
tip it toward my close orbit,
toward the people who fill me.
I meditate and channel it within.
And sometimes I send it across oceans —
to mothers in Palestine
pouring themselves into everyone around them.
I am energy.
I can create energy.
That’s enough to understand my place here.
This morning I caught myself humming
in line at the coffee shop,
smiling at nothing, at everything.
just carrying the quiet knowing
that the roots I planted
are flowering.
Last night I read a post from a mom in Rafah
trying to keep a bedtime routine
for her children under the weight of shelling.
I closed my eyes
and sent her some of the love
I had been given throughout the day.
It’s a wild thing
to feel loved just for being,
not for trying.
My little solar system is lighting me up.
I wanted to share the glow with you first.
